Shares are down 80% for the year-to-date, and have traded below the $5 per-share mark since late September.

Will the online apparel retailer’s fiscal first-quarter earnings report – due out after Tuesday’s close – help give SFIX a desperately needed boost?

“In our view, the task before the management is challenging, and it is not entirely clear if they can turn the situation around unless they are able to quickly right-size inventory levels without substantial impact to margins and revive active client growth,” says UBS Global Research analyst Kunal Madhukar, who has a Neutral rating on SFIX, or the equivalent of Hold. Madhukar adds that despite what appears to be an attractive valuation, “data points in the near-term could be negative and visibility into a potential turnaround remains low.”

For Stitch Fix’s fiscal first quarter, consensus estimates are for a per-share loss of 47 cents – wider than the 2 cents per-share loss the company posted in the year-ago period – and revenue of $459.4 million, down 21% year-over-year (YoY).

Analysts, on average, expect the packaged food company to report earnings of 88 cents per share (-1.1% YoY) and revenue of $2.5 billion (+9.7% YoY).

UBS Global Research analyst Cody Ross (Sell) expects CPB to post strong fiscal Q1 results amid expectations that shipments outpaced consumptions as the company replenished retailer inventory and that labor shortages and supply chains improved. However, Ross also says that a solid earnings report is likely already priced into the consumer staples stock.

Indeed, shares are up more than 23% for the year-to-date, outperforming the broader S&P 500 by nearly 38 percentage points.

The company, which makes a wide array of semiconductor and infrastructure software products, has beaten top- and bottom-line estimates for the last nine quarters in a row. This time around, consensus estimates are for earnings of $10.28 per share (+31.6% YoY) and revenue of $8.9 billion (+20.2% YoY).

“We see fourth-quarter sales/earnings per share inline/better versus the Street led by cloud and seasonally strong wireless (Apple),” says Oppenheimer analyst Rick Schafer, who has an Outperform rating on AVGO, or the equivalent of a Buy. For reference, Broadcom provides Apple (AAPL (opens in new tab)) with wireless chips for its products, including the iPhone. However, the analyst adds that slower cloud spending and weaker guidance from Apple – which is expected to come up short on iPhone 14s due to production issues in China – could weigh on its fiscal 2023 guidance.
